Big gift from Yogi government to teachers of UP, got double gift

Sunday became a historic day for the teachers and employees associated with the Higher Education Department of Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched the ‘Chief Minister Teacher Cashless Medical Facility Scheme’ during a program organized at Khandari Campus, Agra. Along with this, an important MoU was signed between the Higher Education Department and Punjab National Bank (PNB). After this initiative, lakhs of teachers and their families of the state have got a strong cover of health and social security.

Under this scheme, more than 1.28 lakh teachers and employees working in universities, aided colleges and self-financed institutions of the state and their dependent families will be directly benefited. The Chief Minister said that teachers build the future of the society, hence their safety and health is the top priority of the government.

Every family will get cashless treatment up to Rs 5 lakh

Under the Chief Minister Teacher Cashless Medical Facility Scheme, eligible teachers and their families will get free cashless treatment up to Rs 5 lakh every year in listed government and private hospitals. The benefits of the scheme will be available from the first day of card issuance. The government will bear the entire expense from recruitment to medicines, operation and discharge.

This scheme will be operated through SACHIS and treatment will be provided at the rates of Ayushman Bharat scheme. It covers treatment of more than 1900 diseases, including cancer, heart disease, kidney disease, neuro surgery and other serious treatments.

MoU with PNB, will get insurance cover worth crores

In the program, under the agreement with Punjab National Bank, teachers and non-teaching staff will also get personal accident insurance of Rs. 1.50 crore, air accident insurance of up to Rs. 3 crore, term life insurance of Rs. 12 lakh and hospital cash benefit of up to Rs. 60 thousand. This facility will ensure future financial security for teachers and their families.

Beneficiary said- Now he will not have to take loan for treatment

The teachers who got the benefit of the scheme told the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Expressed gratitude. Beneficiary teacher Dr. Mukesh Chand said that now the worry of taking loan for treatment in case of serious illness will end. Dr. Rajnath described it as fulfillment of an years old demand. There itself Dharmendra Kumar Chaudhary said that accident insurance and term life insurance have provided great security to families.

According to Dr. Ravikant Pathak, teachers’ self-confidence will increase by getting facilities for treatment of serious diseases like cancer and heart disease. Dr. Monica Asthana said that this scheme will provide mental relief to women and their families. Whereas Anupam Saxena expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister, calling it a historic decision for the education world.

Big step towards teachers’ welfare

The government believes that this scheme is not limited to just health facilities, but will also provide social and economic security to teachers and their families. Facilities like cashless treatment and insurance cover will free them from future worries and motivate them to do teaching work in a better way. The state government says that to strengthen the education system, the respect and welfare of teachers will remain the top priority.
