Jailed IAS Pooja Singhal’s property worth 82 crores seized, including hospital-plant, these names are in the list

IAS Pooja Singhal Property Attached: The Enforcement Directorate has permanently attached assets worth Rs 82 crore of suspended Jharkhand IAS officer Pooja Singhal in the MNREGA scam. These properties include a super specialty hospital, a diagnostic centre, plant and machinery as well as two plots of land in Ranchi.

The ED had launched the money laundering probe on the basis of several FIRs registered by Jharkhand Police and Vigilance Bureau, Jharkhand. Investigation revealed that the black money made from the MGNREGA scam was deposited in various bank accounts belonging to Pooja Singhal and her relatives and this money was also used for purchase/investment in properties.

The ED had provisionally attached the properties of Pooja Singhal, including Pulse Hospital, Pulse Diagnostic Center and other things. Now the judicial authority has ordered to attach it permanently. After this, now the money coming to Pulse Hospital will be deposited in ED’s account.

About 20 crore cash was found

Pooja Singhal had allegedly earned huge money by misusing her position. In the investigation, the ED had found that Pooja Singhal had acquired disproportionate assets, which were bought with the help of this money.

During the investigation, the ED had searched the locations of Pooja Singhal and her associates on May 6, 2022. During this, an amount of 19.76 crores was received, which was confiscated. Now all these properties have been permanently attached.

was arrested last year

Pooja Singhal was arrested by the ED on May 11, 2022. In July, a complaint was filed against him and six others under the Money Laundering Act. On October 31, 2022, the judicial authority had given permission to keep the seized cash as well as other seized items.

Pooja Singhal is currently lodged in Hotwar Jail, Ranchi after being denied any relief from the Supreme Court. Further investigation is underway.
