Chhattisgarh: A secret meeting of top Congress leaders has taken place at the Chief Minister’s residence for the assembly elections to be held in Chhattisgarh. In this meeting, the Congress has prepared its strategy for the elections. Divisional level conferences of the Congress are going to be held in June. What responsibility will the leaders get in the election has also been finalized and the big thing is that without any dispute all the leaders have agreed to take their respective responsibilities.
High-level meeting of Congress for election preparations
Actually, on Tuesday afternoon a sudden high-level meeting of Congress took place at Chief Minister’s residence in Raipur. State in-charge of Congress Kumari Selja had reached to attend this meeting. Apart from this, only some senior leaders among the ministers were called to attend the meeting. Assembly Speaker Dr. Charandas Mahant, Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, PCC Chief Mohan Markam, Environment Minister Mohammad Akbar and Minister Shivkumar Dahria participated in it.
What happened in the Congress meeting on organizational change?
Discussion has intensified in political circles regarding this sudden meeting. There was a long queue of vehicles in the CM House. Speculations were rife that the Congress high command might take tough action after the results of the Karnataka elections. Big changes can happen in the organization. However, Health Minister TS Singhdev has put an end to this discussion. Singhdev interacted with media persons at his bungalow after the meeting was over.
Singhdev said this time 75 in the election then why change? I will not say this, but not even a word was discussed in this context in the meeting. He said that when all the work is being done well then why the change? He said that this time if 75 is crossed in the election then what is the need for change. Singhdev told that in the meeting there is complete agreement to take responsibility in this election, that is, Congress leaders will be given different responsibilities for the elections and the leaders have agreed to take this responsibility.
TS Singhdev told about the election preparations that the round of meetings has started just like the meetings used to be held for the elections 5 years back. For the assembly elections, it has been clearly decided how to work. Within the next two-three weeks, I think that before June 15, workers’ conferences will be held in 5 divisions. Block, zone and central level officials will be called. In the second phase, the minister in charge will have to hold a meeting every month in the districts in charge, instructions have been given for this. He also said that there are 4 months left for the code of conduct to be implemented. That is, the code of conduct will come into force in the first or second week of October.
ED Raid was also discussed in Congress meeting
On ED action and allegations of corruption being leveled by BJP before elections, TS Singhdev said that before 2018 this Cases had come to the fore but ED did not do any kind of investigation. When we wanted to set up a task force and conduct an inquiry, a stay was taken from the court on behalf of the BJP. He said that the then leader of the opposition has obstructed the investigation. BJP has no moral right to discuss about corruption. TS Singhdev further informed that the misuse of ED has been discussed in the meeting. People are being pressurized, they are being assaulted, signatures are being taken forcibly.
‘Try to fulfill maximum promises in the remaining time’
Singhdev said about the displeasure of some leaders and leaving the meeting midway, the Home Minister went out because Because he had to go to some event. On the other hand, on the strategy, TS Singhdev said that CM Bhupesh Baghel and PCC Chief and veteran leaders of the party will go to every district. He said that we will try to fulfill maximum promises in the remaining time.
