Deputy CM Fadnavis told BJP President Nadda- ‘Don’t worry, since last time in Maharashtra…’

Maharashtra News: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday called on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President J.P. Nadda that his party would win more seats in Maharashtra than before in the coming elections. Lok Sabha elections are expected to be held in the country in April-May, 2024 while assembly elections in Maharashtra are likely to be held in October-November next year.

What happened in the last Lok Sabha elections?
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP-Shiv Sena (undivided) together won 41 out of 48 seats in Maharashtra. At the same time, in the Maharashtra assembly elections held at the end of this year, BJP won 105 seats and Shiv Sena 56 seats. There are 228 seats in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly.

‘We will win more seats than last election’
Addressing party workers after the BJP’s state executive meeting in Pune, Fadnavis said, “We want to assure the national president of our party that he need not worry about Maharashtra.” We will win more seats than in the last elections.

‘Our government is completely constitutional, will win the next election too’
BJP leader Fadnavis said, “This is the first executive meeting of the BJP after the Supreme Court’s decision on the Maharashtra government. The top court did not accept even a single demand out of the total eight demands placed by the opposition. I want to tell that our government is completely constitutional and it will not only complete its term but will also win the next elections.

Need to strengthen the party at the booth level – Deputy CM
The Deputy CM said that there is a need to strengthen the party at the booth level to win the upcoming elections. Fadnavis said, “Recently, we had to face defeat in Karnataka. In 42 places, we lost only by a margin of 2,000 to 3,000 votes, so there is a need to strengthen the party at the booth level everywhere.
