In fact, State Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma had reached Potkapalli, Golapalli and Kolaiguda villages of his own assembly constituency, which are called Dhur Naxal-affected areas. After reaching Potkapalli village of Kishtaram police station area by helicopter, Lakhma met the villagers and listened to their problems and also inspected the health center operated in the village.
Lakhma, a minister in the state government, assured the villagers of all possible help in the development of the area while setting up a chaupal among the villagers. After which Minister Kawasi Lakhma reached Gollapalli village in Ghor Naxal area. After 19 years, the MLA and the minister who came here to meet the villagers kept staring at Lakhma. Kawasi Lakhma performed Bhumi Pujan and inaugurated the development works worth Rs. 10.5 crore for the residents of the area, along with it announced to build a sports ground at a cost of Rs. 50 lakh in these development works.
Naxalites are on the backfoot in this area – Minister Lakhma
Minister Lakhma told the villagers that now the village and its villagers will be developed, the Naxalite terror had stopped them from coming to this village, before that in the year 2004, Minister Kawasi Lakhma reached this village along with former Chief Minister of the state, Ajit Jogi had happened. After that Naxalism dominated to such an extent that he did not set foot in this village for 19 years. Minister Lakhma claimed that Naxalites are on the backfoot in this area for the last few years and this has become possible after the Congress government came to power. Because of this, he has reached his village to meet the villagers, he said that now the village will be developed and basic facilities will reach Golapalli as well as the surrounding villages.
