Rahul Gandhi in America: Politics in India has heated up due to the statements of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who went on a tour of America. Rahul Gandhi is constantly besieging the Modi government in America. On Thursday (June 2), Rahul Gandhi once again attacked the central government on the issue of Parliament membership and said, since he raised the issue of Adani-Hindenburg in the Parliament, he has got a gift (punishment) in return.

Rahul Gandhi said that he is the first person who has been given the biggest punishment in the case of defamation. The Congress leader was answering the questions of journalists at the National Press Club of Washington, the US capital. Prior to this, on Wednesday (June 1) also, Rahul Gandhi had given a statement on the issue of losing the membership of Parliament.

There is no maximum punishment for the first offense – Rahul

Referring to his disqualification from Parliament, Rahul Gandhi, in response to questions from journalists, said it happened after his speech on the Adani-Hindenburg controversy in the Lok Sabha. I asked a question and I became the first person in India to get the heaviest punishment in a defamation case in history since 1947.

Rahul Gandhi further said, no one has been given the maximum punishment, that too on the first offence. This makes it clear what is happening to me. It is quite interesting to see my disqualification after my speech about Adani in Parliament. So you can do the math.

Said this on opposition unity

While speaking on opposition unity in Washington DC National Press Club, Rahul Gandhi said that his party is in touch with fellow opposition forces. Responding to ANI’s question, Rahul said that his party is holding regular talks with all opposition parties, “a lot of good work is being done” in this regard.

Rahul Gandhi said, “The opposition is very well united and it is connecting more strongly. We are in talks with all the opposition (parties). I think a lot of good work is being done there.”

He also discussed the difficulty of it and said that there are many places where we are competing with the opposition, so a little trade-off is necessary, but I am confident that it (grand alliance against the BJP at the Centre) will happen.
