In which he has said that during the farmer’s movement, Twitter was recommended to block many accounts from India. In fact, a clip of the interview of Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey was shared by Youth Congress and National Students Union of India (NSUI). In which Dorsey is seen making these claims regarding the Government of India. This is the clip of the interview given to YouTube channel Breaking Points. This interview is now being made viral on social media by the Congress.
Threats were received from India – Jack Dorsey
Jack Dorsey, who resigned from Twitter’s board last year during an interview to YouTube channel, was asked if he had ever faced any pressure from foreign governments. In response to which Dorsey made many big claims by referring to India. Jack Dorsey claimed that during the farmers’ protests in India, several recommendations were made to block Twitter handles, including journalists who were critical of the government. Dorsey claimed that during this time it was threatened that we would shut down Twitter in India or the houses of your officers would be raided. All this happened in India, a democratic country.
In his reply, Jack Dorsey took the name of Turkey apart from India. He said that Turkey threatened Twitter just like India. The government of this country had also threatened to shut down Twitter. Due to which there was often a court battle with the government and Twitter won in this.
Congress targeted
Sharing a clip of Twitter co-founder Dorsey’s interview, Youth Congress national president Srinivas BV wrote on Twitter, “Mother of democracy – Unfiltered.” He then wrote quoting Jack Dorsey’s statement, “During the farmers’ protests, the Modi government put pressure on us and said that we will close your offices, raid the homes of your employees. If you Didn’t follow what was said.”

Agricultural laws had to be withdrawn
Farmers across the country protested against the three agricultural laws brought by the Modi government. Thousands of farmers gathered on the borders of Delhi for almost a year, after which in November 2021 the Prime Minister Narendra Modi Announced the repeal of all the three controversial agricultural laws. During this, the government admitted that it was not successful in conveying its message to the farmers. During this entire farmer’s movement, there was a lot of criticism of the government.
