Damoh News: Union Minister Prahlad Patel has chosen a unique way of registering a protest against the FIR against his supporter in the case of suicide of a person. He has announced to give up the security provided to him by the Damoh police, while the BJP government of Madhya Pradesh has handed over the investigation of the matter to the Crime Investigation Department. This step of the government is being considered as an exercise to satisfy this senior BJP leader.

State Home Minister Narottam Mishra told reporters in Bhopal, “He is a senior and respected leader of the party. It is worth mentioning that there is speculation that OBC leader Patel could be a contender for the chief minister’s post if the BJP comes to power after the assembly elections next year.

Vikram Rohit, a salesman of a ration shop in Damoh, allegedly committed suicide five days ago. Officials said that the police have registered a case against Patel’s representative in Damoh municipality, Yashpal Thakur, in this connection. Prahlad Patel, Minister of State for Food Processing Industries and Jal Shakti in the central government, represents the Damoh Lok Sabha constituency.

Speaking to reporters here, the Union Minister said, “My sympathies are with the youth who committed suicide. But those who make false cases or make such cases to create pressure, they should listen carefully that their plans will not be successful.

He said, “I personally feel that the Damoh police acted in haste. I am against the Superintendent of Police and the action. Yashpal (Thakur) is my worker and a responsible public representative. In this (complaint) the names of other people are also there. My name is also there, so I should also be accused.

He said, “I am with him at all costs. I had said that a detailed investigation should be done, but the police acted in haste without getting the handwriting expert examined. Police should not take such action. I strongly oppose it. The minister said that he will not take the services of Damoh police until justice is done.

The minister said, “I will not take any service of Damoh police. Today itself, I am leaving his protection. Except for my personal security, no personnel of Damoh police will be stationed at my bungalow or with me.
