Rahul Gandhi on PM Modi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi On Saturday (August 10, 2024), he will visit the landslide-affected areas in Wayanad, Kerala. The PM will conduct an aerial survey of the devastation here. Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi has thanked the PM for his visit. Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi posted on Instagram and said, “Thank you, Modiji, for visiting Wayanad to take stock of the terrible tragedy. This is a good decision.”

The Leader of Opposition said, “I am sure that once the Prime Minister sees this devastation firsthand, he will declare it a national disaster.” During his visit to Wayanad, the PM will review the relief and rehabilitation work as well as interact with the survivors of the accident. According to a report by news agency PTI, the PM reached Kannur at 11 am and will conduct an aerial survey of the landslide-affected area in Wayanad. He said that the teams involved in the rescue operation will give him information about the evacuation efforts.

After this, PM Modi will visit the relief camp and hospital, where he will meet the victims and survivors of the landslide. The PM will also hold a review meeting here, in which he will be given detailed information about the incident and relief efforts. More than 300 people lost their lives in this tragedy, while many are still missing.

Thank you, Modi ji, for visiting Wayanad to personally take stock of the terrible tragedy. This is a good decision.

After this terrible tragedy, Leader of Opposition and former Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi visited the landslide affected areas along with Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi. Here he also met the people in the relief camps. After this, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi raised the issue of this disaster in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday (7 August 2024). He had demanded the central government to declare it a national disaster, increase the compensation given to the people and provide a comprehensive rehabilitation package.
