Russia-Ukraine War: In the war between Russia and Ukraine that started on 24 February 2022, Ukraine is now gaining an upper hand over Russia. The Ukrainian army has captured the city of Sudja in the Kursk region of Russia. This was confirmed by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky himself. He said that the army has entered Russian territory and captured the city of Sudja in the Kursk region.
He also said that Ukraine’s military commander’s office is being set up in Sudja. This city is one of the largest cities of Ukraine captured so far, whose population was about 5 thousand before the war. Earlier, Ukraine had attacked 4 military airports of Russia with drones. This shows that Ukraine’s morale is high. Just a few days ago, news came that the army has entered 1 thousand kilometers inside Russia.
British robots helping Ukraine?
According to a report by Germany’s leading media outlet Bild, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have started using BAD.2 model robot dogs manufactured by British firm Brit Alliance. These robot units are proving to be effective in Ukraine’s military strategy, posing a new challenge to the Russian army.
What are these robot dogs?
BAD.2 Robot Dogs are compact ground drones equipped with high-definition video cameras. They are specially designed for reconnaissance missions. They can land on the battlefield without any risk and keep a complete watch on the opponents. With a speed of up to 15 km/h, these robots can pass through trenches, forest areas and other difficult terrains, where traditional unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have difficulty reaching.
Robot dogs can gather intelligence in areas that are dangerous and therefore invaluable to soldiers. Their ability to maneuver through dense brush and hidden locations makes them better suited to gathering critical information from areas that are difficult for drones or soldiers to reach.
How many robot dogs is the Ukrainian army using
The report said that more than 30 of these robot dogs are currently in use by the Ukrainian army. The cost of each robotic dog ranges from Rs 3 lakh 70 thousand to Rs 7 lakh 40 thousand. To avoid possible detection by the Russian army, the Ukrainian army has equipped these robots with German-made anti-thermal camouflage technology, which helps them hide.
This is not the first time robot dogs have been used in Ukrainian military operations. In June 2022, the US military announced that it would provide Kiev with two robot dogs designed to clear mines and assist in managing other types of ordnance.
