The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s Wastewater Dashboard has confirmed this. The CDC said that a big wave of corona epidemic is going on in America at this time. This has been revealed by the sewage water coming out of people’s homes. The highest viral activity has been observed in sewage water compared to the last two years. The CDC said that the viral activity in the sample taken on August 10 has reached 8.82, which is slightly less than 9.56 in July 2022. At present, sewage water is the only way in America to detect the level of corona.

The CDC said that the level of COVID may increase even more. During the increase in COVID in the month of May, the viral activity inside the US was 1.36. CDC Deputy Director Dr. Jonathan Yoder said in an email, ‘Currently the level of COVID-19 wastewater viral activity is very high at the national level, with the western US region leading the way.’ He said that this time the wave of corona is coming earlier than in previous years, whereas in previous years this activity used to increase in late August or September.

Corona increased four times in America
CDC said that the number of corona infected patients and death rate is also increasing continuously. At present, it has not reached a worrying level yet. According to CDC, till July, 4 corona infected patients were being admitted to the hospital in a population of one lakh. Whereas in the month of May, only one patient was admitted to the hospital in a population of one lakh, this figure has increased four times by July. On the other hand, there is a large population which is getting treatment for corona by staying at home.

American scientists are worried
In America, the health department no longer conducts tests to monitor corona patients like before. In America, now instead of daily tests, corona is detected from sewage water. Investigation has revealed that three variants of corona are active in America. Due to the changing form of corona, antibodies are not being formed inside people, which is a matter of concern. American scientists have also expressed concern over this.
