Gang rape case: A man in France is facing trial for repeatedly drugging his wife and getting her raped by strangers. This man recruited dozens of strangers to do this. The 71-year-old accused named Dominique P is accused of contacting strangers online and inviting them to his home and sexually abusing the victim for more than a decade.

According to the BBC report, the woman’s lawyers say that the woman was kept in such a deep state of unconsciousness that she was not aware of the repeated abuse. This case has shocked France. Police have identified at least 92 rapes committed by 72 men. Fifty people have been identified and charged and these people are facing trial along with the woman’s husband.

How was the matter revealed?

The woman’s lawyer said she learned about the shocking incident when police summoned her in connection with a crime investigation in 2020. Her lawyer Antoine Camus also said the trial would be “a terrifying experience” for her as it would be the first time she would see video evidence of the abuse. “For the first time, she will have to go through the rapes she has suffered for 10 years,” he told news agency AFP.

Police got the video and made it as evidence

Police found hundreds of photos and videos of his wife on his computer, in which she appeared to be unconscious. The videos allegedly showed dozens of men raping her in the couple’s home. The abuse allegedly began in 2011. Investigators also found chats on a website in which Dominic P allegedly asked strangers to come to his home and rape his wife.

He admitted to the police that he had given his wife heavy drugs, including anti-anxiety medication. The accused rapists range in age from 26 to 74 years and have different occupations. Most of them raped her once, while some raped her up to six times.
