Israel-Lebanon Conflict: Amidst the Israeli attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon, a big statement has come from the Health Minister of Lebanon, Dr. Firas Abed. He claimed on Wednesday (September 25, 2024), “We (Lebanon) are already at war.” He told the British TV news channel ‘Sky News’ that due to Israeli airstrikes, five lakh people would “easily” be displaced.
According to Dr. Firas Abaid, “more than 700 people have been killed in the recent Israeli attacks on Lebanon. The government “estimates” that the number of displaced residents in Lebanon is approaching half a million. However, this has not been confirmed at the moment.” The Lebanese minister also said that Israel’s goal is to create a “state of terror and panic” among Lebanese citizens and “provoke a mass exodus.”
Israel is targeting homes in southern Lebanon!
Dr. Firas Abed’s latest comment comes at a time when Israel also carried out an airstrike on Lebanon on Wednesday (September 25, 2024). According to media reports, 25 people were killed in this attack, while six people were injured. Quoting Lebanese military and medical sources, news agency IANS reported that Israelis have targeted houses in southern Lebanon.
Meanwhile, news agency Xinhua reported that 15 of those killed in the airstrike were Lebanese citizens, while the other 10 were Syrians. Military sources said on the condition of anonymity that Israel fired four missiles on several houses in the middle of Namairieh village in the morning. After the airstrike, the Lebanese Red Cross and civil defense teams admitted the injured to local hospitals for treatment.
Indian Embassy in Lebanon issued advisory
On the other hand, the Indian Embassy in Lebanon issued an advisory on Wednesday, which clearly stated that in view of the recent developments and tensions in the region, Indian citizens are advised not to travel to Lebanon until further notice, while all Indian citizens already present in Lebanon are also advised to leave Lebanon.
