Red alert for 6 states! Rain brings trouble in some places and relief in others, know what the weather will be like

IMD Latest Weather Update: The Indian Meteorological Department said in the latest weather update that there will be heavy rains at isolated places in Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Gujarat region. There will also be rain in Sikkim and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. Rain activities are expected to continue in eastern, northeastern and central India for the next two days.

The IMD has also issued a red alert for Madhya Maharashtra, Goa, Konkan, Gujarat region, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. Very heavy rain warning has been issued for Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and entire Gujarat region. Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Kutch and Saurashtra on September 27.

Where will it rain?

The Meteorological Department informed that there may be heavy rain at some places in eastern Madhya Pradesh and western Madhya Pradesh on September 27. There is a possibility of heavy to intense rain in eastern Uttar Pradesh on September 27.

The Meteorological Department has warned that there may be heavy rains at some places in Uttarakhand from September 26 to September 27, heavy rains are expected in eastern Uttar Pradesh from September 26 to September 28. Heavy rains may occur in western Uttar Pradesh on September 27.

Heavy rains are expected in some places in South India on September 29 and 30, especially in Mahe and Kerala. Similarly, heavy rains may occur in coastal Karnataka and Telangana.

Monsoon situation

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that heavy to very heavy rains were recorded in Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra. This has effectively halted the progress of the withdrawal of the southwest monsoon on the line connecting Firozpur, Sirsa, Churu, Ajmer, Mount Abu, Deesa, Surendranagar and Junagadh (mainly Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat).

IMD’s numerical model forecasts have suggested a west-northwest track for the cyclonic circulation bringing persistent rains, which will move across south Uttar Pradesh and later across the foothills of the Himalayas towards Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal.

Simultaneously, an anticyclonic circulation may form over the southeast Bay of Bengal, possibly signalling the cessation of such rain-bringing circulations and the end of the season. This may open the stage for the winds to turn from southwest to northeast.

How will the weather be in the coming days?

After West India, rain is expected in East and Northeast India and extremely heavy rain is expected at some places in the hilly areas of West Bengal and Sikkim. At the same time, heavy to very heavy rain will occur at some places in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam and Meghalaya and will continue for another day (Friday) in Bihar and the hills.

Heavy rains are also expected at some places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya during the entire week. Rains are also expected in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Jharkhand, plains of West Bengal and Odisha and Bihar.

Why is there a delay in the withdrawal of monsoon?

According to the Meteorological Department, the southwest monsoon starts withdrawing from Rajasthan around 17 September, but this time it started a week later on 23 September. Due to this, the monsoon is unlikely to end in Pune and Mumbai before 10-12 October. Usually, the monsoon withdraws from Maharashtra from 5 October.
