Flood caused devastation in many districts of Bihar, see the situation in pictures.

An embankment in Bagaha that connects Bagaha to Bettiah district. After the release of water from Nepal, 36 gates of Valmiki Gandak Barrage have been opened. The team of firefighters is engaged on the barrage 24 hours shift by shift. About two villages have been completely submerged in water. Meanwhile, the Champaran embankment connecting Bettiah to Chakhani has collapsed. After the breach of the embankment, the flow of water has increased further. Life has become busy.

Seven people have died due to drowning in flood waters in different parts of Araria district on Monday, including two in Madanpur of Sadar block, two in Jokihat block and three in Bhargama block. There has been an outcry in the district due to the death of seven people due to drowning in flood water in a single day. People are living in relief camp in Khairkha Panchayat of Forbesganj block.

The water of Gandak river has entered many villages in the low-lying areas of Bettiah. In Beni Madhav’s hamlet under ward number one of Navalpur Panchayat of Yogapatti block, the villagers had donated labor and built a Chachari bridge, but it was washed away due to the strong flow of water. After this, movement of people from many villages has stopped. People are forced to migrate to higher places

Due to heavy rains in Nepal, many villages of Gopalganj are surrounded by floods after five and a half lakh cusecs of water was discharged from Valmikinagar Barrage into Gandak River. DM Mohammad Maqsood Alam has declared all the embankments safe.

Flood has wreaked havoc in many blocks of Katihar district of Bihar. The water level of river Ganga has been decreasing for the last two-three days, but people are still in trouble. After continuous rains, flood victims are facing problems due to strong sunlight and mosquitoes.

After continuous rains in Kishanganj in the Terai region of Nepal, Mahananda, Kannakai, Maichi, Retua and other rivers flowing in the district are in spate. River water has entered dozens of villages in seven blocks of the district. Due to flood, about 50 to 70 thousand population of the district has been affected.

Due to continuous rain for four days in Sitamarhi district, the city/rural areas are flooded. Due to continuous rains in the district and also in the Terai areas of Nepal, the water level of Bagmati and other rivers in the district has increased. The rivers are in full spate. Here, after the embankment of Bagmati river broke in Sitamarhi district, an atmosphere of chaos has been created in the area. The embankment has broken about 20 feet.
