Hamas wanted to blow up Israel’s Azeri Towers on the lines of 9/11! The plan was changed at the last moment

Israel Hamas War: There is a war going on between Iran and Hamas in Western Asia for the last one year. With time, other organizations and countries also joined this war, such as Hezbollah, Houthi, Iran and Lebanon.

On October 7, Hamas fired thousands of rockets targeting Israeli cities. Apart from this, Hamas boys had infiltrated into the areas adjacent to the border and killed people, but this attack was not as intense and sudden as it appears. Preparations for this attack were going on for a long time.

Preparations for the attack were going on for a long time

This attack was part of a plan to attack Israel like 9/11. According to some reports, Hamas had planned to carry out this attack in 2022 itself, but it was postponed. Reports revealed that Hamas postponed the attack for a year to increase coordination with Iran and Hezbollah and strengthen its military skills. International media organizations such as the New York Times, Washington Post and Wall Street Journal have reported that Hamas had already begun preparations for a major attack against Israel, which was called “The Big Project”.

Attack preparations and plans

According to reports, from January 2022 to August 2023, Hamas leaders and commanders made detailed plans for this attack in 10 high-level meetings. Hamas leaders Yahya Sinwar, Muhammad Zaif, Marwan Issa and his brother Muhammad Sinwar were involved in these discussions. The purpose of the attack was to destroy Israel’s military infrastructure and target the civilian population. In 2021, Hamas asked for financial help from Iran and received $10 million. Subsequently, Hamas demanded financial assistance of $500 million over two years.

Earlier this attack was to take place in the end of 2022, but Hamas postponed it in order to get more help from Iran and Hezbollah. In August 2023, Hamas deputy chief Khalil al-Hayya visited Lebanon and met with a senior commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Plans for the attack were discussed at the meeting, but Hezbollah and Iran said they needed more time to “prepare the environment.”

Plan to attack like 9/11

Hamas had another shocking plan, which was similar to the 9/11 attacks. According to reports, Hamas had planned to demolish the Azrieli Towers in Tel Aviv, but after several months concluded that they did not have the capacity to do so. Apart from this, Hamas also rejected many other plans. By September 2022, Hamas leaders felt they were ready for this attack, but it was still postponed further.

Ultimately, October 7, 2023 was chosen as the day of attack. The day coincided with the Jewish festival of Simhat Torah, when Israel’s military preparedness is reduced. Another major factor in the success of the attack was that Hamas had misled the Israeli intelligence agencies, due to which they ignored the possibility of a major attack. Although Hamas carried out the attack on its own, the role of Iran and Hezbollah remains controversial. Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that Tehran was not responsible for the attack. American and Israeli intelligence agencies also said that Iranian officials were unaware of the attack.
