Which idol of Lakshmi-Ganesh to buy for Diwali puja?

The festival of Diwali is celebrated on the date of Kartik Anavasya. On this day, lamps are lit and Lakshmi-Ganesh is worshiped for happiness and prosperity. This year the festival of Diwali will be celebrated on 31 October 2024.

On the day of Diwali, people install and worship the idols of Lakshmi-Ganesh in homes, offices and shops etc. This idol remains installed throughout the year and next year a new idol is brought after immersing the old idol.

On the occasion of Diwali, different types of idols of Lakshmi and Ganesha are available in the markets. But before buying an idol, you should know which kind of idol buying will be auspicious for you. Therefore, some things should be kept in mind while purchasing the idol.

Instead of buying a combined idol of Lakshmi and Ganesha, you should buy separate idols. That is, in which there are separate idols of Mother Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha.

Astrologer Anish Vyas says that it is most auspicious to buy the idol of Lakshmi-Ganesh for worship on the day of Diwali on the day of Dhanteras. On this day you can buy new idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha from the market.

Also keep in mind that in the idol, the trunk of Lord Ganesha is bent towards the right. If you are a businessman and are worshiping in your shop, then take an idol of Lord Ganesha in which the trunk is bent towards the left.

While taking the idol of Goddess Lakshmi, keep in mind that Goddess Lakshmi should be in a sitting posture. He should have a pot in his hand, from which there is rain of wealth. Such an idol is considered very auspicious. You can also buy an idol of Goddess Lakshmi seated on an elephant or a lotus.

For Diwali worship, you can buy idols made of clay, Ashtadhatu, brass, silver etc. But keep in mind that the idol should not be fragmented or broken. Also, it is more auspicious to buy red colored idol of Goddess Lakshmi and yellow colored idol of Lord Ganesha.
