Mobile Internet Services Suspended: A written examination was conducted on Sunday (October 27) for recruitment to Class IV posts in the Assam government and during this, mobile internet services were stopped in the state for about seven hours. Mobile internet services have been suspended across the state from 8.30 am to 4 pm.
This is the third time in the last two months that mobile internet services have been suspended. An order issued on Friday (October 25) said that “in order to conduct free, fair and transparent written examination and to prevent law and order incidents having impact on public safety”, mobile internet, Wi-Fi And mobile data services have been suspended from 8.30 am to 4 pm.
Broadband and voice call service will remain active
It said that during this period, the services of ‘broadband connectivity’ and ‘voice calls’ based on telephone lines will remain operational. The order said that violation of the notification will be punishable under Section 223 of the Indian Justice Code, 2023 and the relevant provision of the Indian Telegraph Act 1885. Official sources said that the competitive examination being conducted under the State Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC) is being conducted in two shifts in 28 districts.
Arrangement of special train for students
There will be recruitment on a total of 5,023 Class IV posts in the Assam Government. State Chief Minister Himanta Bishwa Sharma wished all the candidates in a post on social media platform ‘X’ on Saturday (October 26) evening. Strict security arrangements have been made at all the examination centres.
In a release issued by the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), it was said that NFR has arranged for a special train for the convenience of the candidates appearing in the examination. The written examination for the posts of Class III under SLRC will be held on 15th and 29th September. was organized and during this also mobile internet services were suspended.
