Chhath Mahaparva is celebrated from Chaturthi to Saptami of Kartik Shukla. In this festival which lasts for four days, special things are offered to Chhathi Maiya and Sun God. Let us know about the offerings offered in Chhath Puja.

Prasad is also different during the four days of Chhath Puja. On the first day of Chhath festival, Prasad of pumpkin, gram dal and rice is made on Nahay Khay. After this, kheer prasad and sweet bread are made on the second day. Various types of offerings are kept in the soup bowl for offering Arghya to the Sun God and worshiping Chhathi Maiya.

Thekua is the most important prasad of Chhath Puja. Therefore it is called Mahaprasad of Chhath, which is a traditional sweet. It is made especially during the time of Chhath. Chhath festival is incomplete without Thekua Prasad prepared from flour and jaggery.

It is also necessary to offer rice laddu as Prasad during Chhath Puja. It is prepared easily. This laddu has been offered to Chhathi Maiya. Even without this Prasad, Chhath Puja is considered incomplete.

Along with this, seasonal fruits like water chestnut, orange, banana, apple are also included in Chhath Puja. By arranging these fruits in soup and daala, Arghya is offered to the Sun God while circling around and Chhathi Maiya is worshipped.

Besides, such fruits and vegetables are also kept as Prasad in Chhath Puja which are considered very beneficial and are called medicinal fruits. There are also things like sugarcane, Triphala, Amla, raw turmeric, Suthni, leafy carrot and radish.

Like other worship rituals, offering coconut in Chhath festival has significance. But the peels of the coconut that is offered during Chhath are not removed. Along with this, big lemon is also included as Prasad in Chhath. In folk language it is called Dabh lemon.
