Mojtaba is recognized as a religious and political person. He plays the role of a commanding officer in the office of the Supreme Leader. He has been positioned as a possible successor to his father. Due to this, Iran had to accept a ceasefire brokered by the United Nations in July of the same year.

By the beginning of the 21st century, Mojtaba had developed strong ties not only within the IRGC but also with Iran’s top clerics. His involvement in the office of the Supreme Leader further enhanced his powerful network. Mojtaba played a major role in suppressing anti-government protests in Iran in 2009, earning him a “radical” leadership image.
