Blisters on the skin: The problem of blisters on the skin of diabetic patients is quite common. Blisters develop on the fingers, toes and entire hands and feet. These blisters are white but they do not hurt. These blisters heal on their own in two to three weeks but they may be a sign that your blood sugar level is not under control. This should be taken seriously.

Diabetic patients also have the risk of digital sclerosis. In this your skin becomes thicker than normal. A person suffering from type-1 and type-2 diabetes can suffer from these problems. The skin of the fingers and toes may be thick or wax-like. The risk of this is higher in people whose blood sugar level is uncontrolled.

Necrobiosis i.e. deadness of cells can also be a sign of diabetes. In this, small, raised, red spots appear on the skin which gradually start growing and becoming shiny. In this, the skin may become thin and may even tear.
