maharashtra assembly elections It has been almost 7 days since the results came but there is still suspense regarding the post of Chief Minister. A meeting was held on Thursday at the residence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding government formation in Maharashtra. Apart from Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, Devendra Fadnavis, Shiv Sena Chief Eknath Shinde and NCP chief Ajit Pawar attended the meeting. The meeting lasted for 1 hour. A picture of the meeting also surfaced, which tells the whole story.
In this photo, everyone from Amit Shah to JP Nadda, Fadnavis and Praful Patel can be seen smiling on their faces. But disappointment can be clearly seen on the face of Eknath Shinde, who has ruled himself out of the Chief Minister race. After the election results, Shiv Sena was continuously projecting him for the post of Chief Minister. But calling himself ‘Laadla Bhai’ of Maharashtra, he has left the decision to PM Modi and Amit Shah.
Decision on Chief Minister has not been taken yet
Even after a late night meeting at Amit Shah’s house on Thursday, the name of the CM was not announced. After this meeting Shinde, Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar have returned to Mumbai. It is being told that there will be another meeting of Mahayuti in Mumbai, in which the name of the Chief Minister will be approved.
Fadnavis or someone else?
Fadnavis, who played an important role in helping BJP cross the 100 mark in the last three elections, is leading in this race. He is the biggest leader of BJP in Maharashtra. RSS is also special. Devendra Fadnavis is a Brahmin and has also taken oath as Chief Minister twice. He also served his full tenure of 5 years from 2014 to 2019. However, if BJP sources are to be believed, the party is also considering the names of some Maratha leaders, however, Fadnavis is more likely to make it.
BJP wants to make Eknath Shinde Deputy CM
Amit Shah also discussed alone with Eknath Shinde for about half an hour. It is being told that Shinde’s Shiv Sena has been offered a Union Minister post and Deputy CM post by BJP. If Shinde does not accept the post of Deputy CM, he can be made a minister at the Center and any other Shiv Sena leader can be sworn in as Deputy CM in Maharashtra.
However, BJP wants that Eknath Shinde should be made the Deputy CM, so that the message of unity can be given in the state. However, after being the Chief Minister, Shinde may refuse the post of Deputy CM. But when Shinde rebelled against Uddhav Thackeray and joined BJP, Fadnavis took over the post of Deputy CM at the behest of the party leadership. Whereas he himself had been the Chief Minister for 5 years.
What demand did Shinde place?
Sources are also telling that after meeting Amit Shah, Eknath Shinde put forward his demand. In this meeting, he demanded to give 12 ministerial posts in the state along with the post of Chairman of the Legislative Council. Many important ministries are also included in these.
Who can get how many ministerial posts?
It is believed that the formula of one minister for 6 MLAs can be adopted in the grand alliance in Maharashtra. According to this, BJP can be given 21-22 ministerial positions, Shiv Sena can be given 10-12 ministers and NCP can have 8-9 ministers. In Maharashtra, which has 288 seats, 43 ministers including the Chief Minister can be made.
What did Shinde say after the meeting with Amit Shah?
Eknath Shinde After meeting Amit Shah, he said that he will not become an obstacle in the formation of government in the state and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi And will follow the decision taken by Shah. This cleared the way for BJP to choose its candidate as the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He said, this ‘Ladla Bhai’ has come to Delhi and the title ‘Ladla Bhai’ is higher than anything else for me.
