Bhagwat Geeta has been kept in the category of the most sacred scripture in Hindu religion. Also, this is the only book in the world whose birth anniversary is celebrated. Every year, Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Margashirsha month is celebrated as Geeta Jayanti.

This year Geeta Jayanti is on 11 December 2024. The teachings given by Lord Krishna to Arjuna in the land of Kurukshetra are called Geeta. Geeta originated from the lotus mouth of Krishna.

Geeta has 18 chapters and 700 verses, the one who follows it automatically gets the solution to every problem. Therefore, the life of the one who understood the importance of Geeta became successful.

Karmanyevadhikaraste ma phaleshu kadachan. Maa Karmaphalheturbhurma te Sangostvakarmani॥ Krishna says- You have the right on your actions, not on the fruits of your actions. Therefore, keep doing without worrying about the results.

Krodhaadbhavati समोहः समोहातस्म्रितिविभ्रमः। Smritibhramshadbuddhinasho buddhinashatpranashyati॥ Meaning: Man’s mind and intellect are destroyed by anger. Due to confusion in memory, man’s intelligence gets destroyed and when his intelligence gets destroyed, man destroys himself.

Yada yada hi dharmasya glanirbhavati bharatah. Abhyutthanamdharmasya tadatmanam srijamyham. Meaning: Whenever religion declines and unrighteousness increases. Every now and then I (Shri Krishna) incarnate for the revival of religion.
