Fine arts and cultural excellence quota will start in IIT Madras, this work is necessary

Fine Arts and Cultural Excellence quota will now be introduced for admission to undergraduate courses in the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras. IIT has become the first institute in the country to give quota in Fine Art and Cultural Excellence in admission to undergraduate courses. This quota will be applicable from the academic session 2025-26.

First IIT to give cultural quota in admission
IIT Madras Director V. Kamakoti said that under the Fine Art and Culture Excellence quota, two seats each will be allotted in all the B.Tech and B.Sc courses of the institute. Among these, one seat will be reserved for women. Interested candidates can apply for admission under this quota through IIT Madras / FACE Admission Portal.

It is to be noted here that the admission process under FACE will not be done through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority portal, but on a separate portal created by IIT. IIT has become the first institute in the country to give quota in Fine Art and Cultural Excellence in admission to undergraduate courses.

This is a necessity
It is mandatory for the candidate to qualify JEE (Advanced)-2025 and secure a position in the Common Rank List (CRL) or category-wise rank list. IIT Madras will offer seats in each of its undergraduate programs through FACE admission.

Indian citizens and Overseas Citizens of India/Persons of Indian Origin (OCI/PIO) can apply for two additional seats per program only if they have qualified JEE (Advanced)-2025 and are in the Common Rank List (CRL). Or has secured a place in the category-wise rank list.

This eligibility is necessary for FACE admission. He told that every candidate will get marks according to his category on the basis of his excellence in fine arts and culture. FACE Rank List (FRL) will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates based on their performance in various fine arts and cultural programs or awards or scholarships received by them.
