Regarding the MAHSR project, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal has said that talks between India and Japan regarding the Mumbai and Ahmedabad high speed train are going well. Japan will provide E-20 train series. It will be available in the early 2030s.

Jaiswal said that the train being talked about is still being built. Meanwhile, the construction work has progressed rapidly. The first section will start only in 2027. No proposal was received from Japan in this matter. The work on implementing the project is in line with the common goal of starting the high speed train project as soon as possible.
Actually, the former minister of Japan had posted on X making allegations. He had claimed that Indian officials were responsible for the delay in the Mumbai and Ahmedabad Bullet Train projects. Indian officials did not keep their promises several times during the talks. Only your interests are given priority. The Indian side bears 100 percent responsibility for the project not going ahead.
