Islamabad: Amid rising tensions with the US, a high-level delegation from the country led by Iran’s Interior Minister Iskander Momeni has reached Pakistan, where he will hold talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir. Pakistan Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi welcomed Momeni, who arrived in Islamabad on his invitation.

At the beginning of his visit, Momeni paid tribute to the martyrs by laying a wreath at ‘Yadgar-e-Shuhada’, where he was given a ‘guard of honour’ by a contingent of Federal Constabulary. After this he also visited Shakarparian Park.

According to the government television channel, the main objective of this visit of the Iranian Interior Minister is to discuss the breaking ceasefire and continuously worsening situation between America and Iran.

In such a situation, the meeting of the Iranian delegation with PM Shahbaz Sharif and Pakistani Army Chief is being considered very important.
