ISRO is giving internship opportunity to students, know who can apply?

ISRO Internship: If you want to make a career in the field of space science, engineering or new technology, then ISRO Internship has brought a big opportunity for you. ISRO has released information about internship and student trainee program for students related to science and technology. Under this, selected students will get a chance to work with ISRO scientists, be a part of research projects and gain practical experience related to space technology. Interested students can apply by visiting the official website of ISRO unit of their choice.

Who can apply for ISRO internship?

Only Indian citizens can apply for ISRO internship. The applying student should be doing graduation, post graduation or research from a recognized institute related to science and technology or should have recently completed the degree. For eligibility, the candidate must have at least 60 percent marks or 6.32 CGPA on 10 point scale. Additional educational conditions may also apply for application at different ISRO centres.

What are the conditions for VSSC internship?

BE, B.Tech, ME, M.Tech, B.Sc, M.Sc, BS-MS, Integrated M.Sc, Integrated M.Tech and PhD students can apply for internship at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre. Graduate students must have completed the prescribed semester, while ME, M.Tech and MSc students must have completed the first semester and PhD students must have completed the coursework. Applications will be accepted from students pursuing regular courses or candidates completing their entire course after 14 February 2025.

How long will the internship be?

The duration of this internship has been fixed at minimum 21 days and maximum 45 days. During this period, students will get the opportunity to work on different projects under the guidance of scientists and experts in ISRO’s laboratory. Although this is a completely training based program. No stipend, honorarium, accommodation or food facilities will be provided to the selected candidates. The educational qualification of the students selected for internship will be based on the available seats and availability of laboratory and resources in the respective ISRO centre. Information will be sent to selected candidates through email. ISRO has made it clear that any student will get the internship opportunity only once during his/her degree.

When will the applications start?

The online application process for B.Sc. Internship will start on 14th August 2026 at 10:00 am and the applications will be accepted till 11:59 pm on 14th September 2026. The internship will be conducted between 1 November 2026 to 31 January 2027. While applying, candidates will have to upload the required documents including their marksheet, technical skills, project work, work experience and college permission letter in a PDF file.

In which ISRO centers one can apply?

Candidates can apply to different units of ISRO as per their interest. Among these, U. R. Rao. Satellite Center (Bengaluru), Space Application Center (Ahmedabad), Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (Thiruvananthapuram), Satish Dhawan Space Center (Sriharikota), Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (Dehradun), Master Control Facility, ISTRAC Physical Research Laboratory and other centres.
