Home Remedies For Flying Insects In Rainy Season: While monsoon rains provide relief from the heat, it also brings with it many problems. The most common problem among these is the increase of mosquitoes, flies, ants, cockroaches and other flying insects in the house at night. As soon as the lights are switched on in the evening, these insects start reaching inside the house, which not only affects the daily life but also increases the risk of many diseases. During the rainy season, increased humidity and accumulated water at many places create a favorable environment for their growth. However, this problem can be reduced to a great extent by adopting some easy home remedies.

Do not allow water to accumulate around the house

The biggest reason for increase in the number of mosquitoes during the rainy season is stagnant water. Water stored in buckets, coolers, pot trays, clogged drains or small pots kept outside the house becomes an ideal place for mosquito larvae. Therefore, check all these places at least once a week and empty the accumulated water immediately. Always keep water tanks and storage containers covered. If it is necessary to keep water in a vessel, then putting a copper coin or a drop of kerosene oil in it can reduce the chances of mosquito larvae developing.

Use mosquito nets and nets

If insects repeatedly come inside the house at night, then installing fine mesh on doors and windows is an easy and effective way. Due to this, air also keeps coming in and insects are not able to reach inside. Using mosquito net while sleeping provides protection from mosquitoes throughout the night. Use yellow or warm light instead of white light

If yellow or warm tone bulbs are installed outside the balcony, verandah or main door of the house, the number of insects can be reduced at night. This type of lighting attracts most of the insects less and the environment outside the house also remains comfortable.

Take help of camphor and garlic

Camphor has long been used in Indian homes as a natural insect repellent. Burning camphor in the room or placing camphor cakes in a bowl filled with water and keeping them in different corners can help in keeping mosquitoes and cockroaches away. Similarly, boil some garlic cloves in water, cool it and fill this solution in a spray bottle. Sprinkling it under the sink, around the dustbin and in dark corners prevents insects from coming there. Insects do not like the strong smell of these two.
