Is the month of January inauspicious for films? What will happen to Sunny Deol’s ‘Border 2’? Expert opinion

The month of August has always been special for Bollywood. Whatever films are released this month, they mostly prove to be hits. For a long time now, the month of January has been proving to be a curse for Bollywood. For many years, the films released in this month have proved to be flops at the box office. In the year 2025, in January, Deva, Emergency, Azad, Gamechanger and Sky Force were released and all of them proved to be flops. Now Border 2 is going to be released on 23 January. Let us tell you what the experts think about this film.

The sequel of JP Dutta’s film Border is going to be released on January 23. Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty and Varun Dhawan will be seen playing important roles in this film. There is a lot of buzz among people about this film. But it remains to be seen what wonders this Buzz can perform at the box office.

How will be the condition of Border 2?

According to the report of Times of India, trade expert Taran Adarsh said- ‘I had pointed this out in 1990 when this used to happen. This year also something similar has happened with twenty-one. This film did not work but I think some films have worked before but that is the curse of January. But instead of all this the content should be good. If the content is good then it can withstand every storm if it is released on any date.

Exhibitor Akshay Rathi said- ‘There are some exceptions to the misfortune of this January. I remember Hrithik Roshan’s Agneepath was released on the weekend of 26th January. Akshay Kumar’s film was also released at that time. But the film made huge money. All this has been happening for the last few years, it is just a coincidence that films released in January do not do well.

Border 2 will break this misery

Akshay further said- ‘What matters most is which film is coming to break it. I hope that film will be Border 2 this year. Every element is there in this film. Cast, genre, scale and franchise. Along with all this, Sunny Deol is a megastar and brilliant director Anurag Singh. When it comes to these kind of films he is the best. So I hope that Border 2 will definitely end this curse.
