Now, while Big B is the owner of property worth 1600 crores, there was a time when he went bankrupt. He was drowned under a debt of 90 crores.

Whenever Amitabh Bachchan remembers his old days, he gets emotional. He had opened his own production house. Which failed and after that he was drowned in debt.

Starting a company was difficult
When Amitabh Bachchan was at the peak of his career, he decided to try his hand in business. He started his own company ABCAL. Big B got success from this company in the beginning. One year was full of success for the company but the second year its condition became bad. Due to which he was drowned in debt of crores due to loss. Big B became bankrupt.

Dhirubhai Ambani extended a helping hand
When Amitabh Bachchan was in a debt of 90 crores, Dhirubhai Ambani came forward to help him. When he came to know about Big B’s condition, he told his younger son Anil Ambani that ‘this is a bad time for him, give him some money.’ But Amitabh Bachchan refused to take help from him. He said that he will repay his debt himself.

After some difficult times, Amitabh Bachchan’s fortunes started to change when he started hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati. Amitabh Bachchan used to charge around Rs 25 lakh per episode for hosting this show. Due to which his debt started to reduce slowly and he paid off all his debt.

Kaun Banega Crorepati has changed Amitabh Bachchan’s life. So far, he has hosted 15 seasons of this show. Only season 3 was not hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. Since then, he has been hosting all the seasons. In season 16, Big B is charging Rs 5 crore per episode.
