Prime Minister Narendra Modi Taking a major step to reform the country’s examination system, Infosys has announced the appointment of Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani as the head of a high-level task force. This task force will give suggestions to make the examination system more transparent, secure and technology based. This decision is being considered important amid the controversies related to paper leaks and examination management in recent years.

Who is Nandan Nilekani?

Nandan Mohanrao Nilekani was born on 2 June 1955 in Bengaluru. His family is originally from Sirsi, Karnataka. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. After this, he co-founded Infosys, a company that gave a new identity to the Indian IT industry and played an important role in the development of the company for a long time.

Nilekani is also credited with successfully implementing the country’s largest digital identity project, Aadhaar. He has been the Chairman of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). Under his leadership, the Aadhaar system expanded and crores of Indians were linked to biometric identification. Apart from this, he is also the co-chairman of EkStep Foundation, which works in the field of education and digital public infrastructure.
