Patanjali University is a private research university, with its campus in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. It was established in 2006 after the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly passed the Patanjali University Act, 2006. Its founders are Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna. Patanjali University standardizes and promotes the Vedic education system in sync with modern technology. It also promotes research on humanities, management, journalism, natural and applied sciences, social sciences and allied knowledge spectrum. At present, Patanjali University has four faculties, which include the Faculty of Yoga Sciences, Faculty of Humanities and Ancient Studies, Faculty of Science and Faculty of Management. These faculties are further divided into 11 departments, which collectively offer 10 courses at UG, PG, Diploma, Certificate and Doctoral levels.
