Making a career in creative field becomes easy, 18 courses and global internship in IICT

In today’s era, many youth want to make a career in fields like animation, gaming, visual effects and digital content. But often lack of proper guidance and industry exposure stands in the way. In such a situation, the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies started in Mumbai has emerged as a strong platform for the youth. This institute has been started on the initiative of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in the Public-Private Partnership model, where along with studies, there is also direct connection with the industry.

Currently 18 types of courses are running in this institute. These include subjects like animation, gaming, VFX, comic art and extended reality. The duration of the course ranges from three months to two years, so that students can choose the option according to their need and time. The good thing is that scholarship of 10 to 25 percent is also being given here on the basis of merit. At present around 300 students are studying here. The institute is currently being run from the Mumbai campus of National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). Four modern floors have been prepared here, which include smart classroom, advanced lab and startup incubation center.

The specialty of this institute is its industry connection. Here partnerships have been made with big companies like Google, Meta, Microsoft, Apple, Adobe and Nvidia. The advantage of having tie ups with these companies is that the students get training as per the needs of the industry. Additionally, internship and job opportunities may also open up in the future. In such a situation, after completing the course, you will not have to wait long for a job.

The teachers teaching here have experience in their respective fields. Professionals knowledgeable in animation, gaming and post-production are training the students. From time to time, well-known personalities from the film and media world like Ashutosh Gowarikar, Ketan Mehta and Rajat Kapoor also come here to guide the students. This gives the students not only knowledge limited to books, but also real industry experience.

Complete practical with studies

Students studying here say that along with studies, special emphasis is given on practical training in the institute. Students coming from different states believe that what they are learning here is different and more useful than normal institutions. Because of the Startup Incubation Centre, students who want to start their own business are also getting guidance and support.
