NTA ready for NEET re-exam, deployed 6700 observers, 40 to 50 policemen at every center

NEET Re-Exam 2026 Today: NEET UG 2026 re-exam is going to be held today i.e. on 21st June. NTA has completed its preparations regarding this. The agency does not want to leave any mistake this time regarding the paper leak controversy and the examination being held again after its cancellation. To make the examination fair and safe, the agency has made many security arrangements across the country.

This examination to be held today will be conducted in 551 cities of the country and 14 cities of foreign countries. 5,440 centers have been set up for the examination, where more than 22 lakh students will appear. NTA says that technical security forces and additional human resources are being used extensively for conducting the examination.

Surveillance will be done with the help of CCTV and AI

CCTV cameras have been installed on a large scale to monitor the examination center and examination classrooms. A total of more than 1.38 lakh CCTV cameras are being monitored at national, state and ministry levels. The live footage of the examination classes is being continuously monitored, along with this the AI based system will also analyze the CCTV footage. So that any suspicious activity can be identified immediately. About 6700 observers have been deployed at the examination centres, while more than 100 virtual observers will do live monitoring from the central level.

Electronic interference will be stopped with jammer

More than 51,000 jammers have been installed across the country to prevent copying and any disturbance through electronic means. Their objective is to prevent any kind of illegal communication around the examination centres. According to NTA, with the help of jammer, effective control will be maintained on mobile network and other electronic activities at the examination centres, so that the confidentiality of the examination is maintained.

Identification will be done through biometric and face authentication

This time the biometric verification system has been further strengthened to ensure the identity of the candidate. More than 48,000 employees have been engaged in biometric verification. Along with this, face authentication technology will also be used. Candidates will be thoroughly screened before admission to the centres. For this, about 38,000 frisking staff have been deployed, so that any kind of irregularities can be prevented. Special arrangements have also been made for security during the examination. State and district administration, police, paramilitary forces, Indian Air Force and postal department committee agencies are involved in this process. On an average, 40 to 50 security personnel have been deployed at each examination centre.

NTA also conducted a nationwide mock drill before the exam, in which CCTV, general biometric system, frisking process and availability of exam material were tested.
