The 40 medical colleges whose recognition was canceled by the central government are from the states of Gujarat, Assam, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Tripura and West Bengal. At the same time, the investigation of the remaining 150 medical colleges is still going on. It is being said that if deficiencies are found in these colleges during the investigation, then their recognition will also be cancelled.
