10 Years Of Lootera: Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha & Vikrant Massey Celebrate The Masterpiece

New Delhi: Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha’s most loved and most cherished performance in Vikramaditya Motwane’s ‘Lootera’ clocked in 10 years to it’s release today. ‘Lootera’ follows the story of a young con man named Varun who falls in love with a woman named Pakhi (played by Sonakshi Sinha) in West Bengal. The film and Ranveer’s performance received widespread acclaim and is celebrated as one of his career’s best.

The movie showcased Ranveer’s remarkable versatility as an actor, as he flawlessly portrayed the complex and nuanced character of Varun in this adaptation of a classic novel.

Ranveer took to his social media, and shared various BTS pictures of him from the sets of the film. He also shared snaps with his director Vikramaditya Motwane as well as an unseen picture with his costar Vikrant Massey and a poster of Sonakshi Sinha from the film complimenting her performance. He also recommended the song ‘Shikayatein’ from the movie on this gloomy Wednesday morning.

‘Lootera’ marked a significant departure from Ranveer’s previous roles of a carefree and flamboyant guy and solidified his position as a seasoned actor capable of delivering profound performances. The film presented a new challenge for Ranveer as he stepped into the shoes of Varun, a character that demanded sophistication and depth.

Vikrant Massey, who essayed the character of Ranveer’s accomplice Dev in the film, also reshared Ranveer and Sonakshi’s Instagram stories.

Filmmaker Vikram Motwane also took to his Instagram handle to share a special post as ‘Ootera’ completes 10 years of its release. Sharing a blurred picture featuring Sonakshi and Ranveer in their characters, he wrote, “The memories might blur with time but they will never fade way. We will always cherish them and know that something very special happened back then.

10 years of Lootera ♥️”

Sonakshi Sinha reacted to the post and commented, “❤️❤️❤️ vikkk!!! Can’t believe it!!! What memories, what a time, what a film!!”

In another post, Motwane expressed his gratitude to the amazing crew of ‘Lootera’ as he wrote, “Lootera was an incredibly tough shoot for me mentally, and I was so fortunate to be surrounded by an ever-smiling, supremely hard-working crew that had my back. All of them have only grown since then and are independent directors, DPs, PDs and Legends! ♥️♥️♥️”

‘Lootera’ might have been a commercially unsuccessful film but it continues to mark its place as ‘one of a kind’ movie.
