New Delhi: ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ is a Manmohan Desai classic that can never get too old or forgotten in the annals of Hindi film industry. Recently, an old clip of Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor from a show went viral, wherein Big B talks about the illogical blood donation scene that featured in the film.
During the townhall before the pandemic, Rishi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan recalled the shoot of ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’ and how they would laugh behind the scenes on the set of the iconic film.
In the clip, Big B recalls laughing at the blood donation scene involving Amar( Vinod Khanna), Akbar( Rishi Kapoor) and Anthony( Amitabh Bachchan) and Nirupa Roy.
For the unaware, the scene involves Amar, Akbar & Anthony lying on hospital beds with a blood transfusion in process. All three of them seem to be donating blood to a single bottle that Nirupa Roy is receiving.
Amitabh Bachchan relayed that he would discuss this with the filmmaker Manmohan Desai and tell him that this scene does not belong to medical science or possible in it, and the director would,ot so politelyask them to lie down quietly, knowing well how audiences would respond to it.

While the scene could be the most ‘illogical’ one, Amitabh Bachchan accepted that despite what it was, fans would explode when the scene played on screen in theaters and the audiences could not get enough of it.
