Chennai’s magic works again in Chepauk, second consecutive win; KKR’s ‘four’ of defeat

Chennai Super Kings has defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 32 runs. The CSK team seemed to have returned to its champion form, especially the bowlers wreaked havoc and forced the KKR batting line-up to their knees. In this match played at Chepauk ground, Chennai team batted first and scored 192 runs. In reply, Kolkata team could score only 160 runs in the stipulated 20 overs.

KKR hit a four in defeat

The IPL 2026 season is going very bad for Kolkata Knight Riders. With this defeat against Chennai, KKR has made four defeats. At the same time, Chennai Super Kings have registered their second consecutive win on their home ground. KKR has only one point, which it got when the match with Punjab Kings was cancelled.

CSK came to bat first, for which Sanju Samson scored 48 runs, while Ayush Mhatre played a quick inning of 38 runs in 17 balls. Dewald Brevis also contributed 41 runs, taking the team’s score to 192. However, CSK was seen struggling badly in the death overs.

Bowlers wreaked havoc

The bowlers of Chennai Super Kings never allowed KKR to enter the match. Sunil Narine and Finn Allen came to open. Allen could score only one run, while Narine was out after scoring 24 runs. By the score of 29, Kolkata had lost 2 wickets. Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi managed the innings with a partnership of 50 runs.

Raghuvanshi was out in the 10th over, after which the fall of wickets started. Meanwhile, Kolkata lost four wickets within 11 runs. Rovman Powell and Ramandeep Singh remained at the crease for a long time and made a partnership of 63 runs, but they were not able to make the connection between the ball and the bat. In the end Kolkata remained 32 runs away from victory. Noor Ahmed took maximum 3 wickets for Chennai. Anshul Kamboj dismissed 2 batsmen. Khalil Ahmed and Akil Hussain took one wicket each and most of the bowlers bowled at a good economy rate.
