Open discrimination in Pakistan cricket, men are getting crores, but women are dependent on every penny

Pakistan Cricket Board Partiality: Pakistan is going to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 next year. Pakistan was allocated Rs 385 crore in Indian currency for this big tournament to be held next year. Through this amount, the big grounds of Pakistan are being renovated and efforts are being made to equip them with world-class facilities. But now there is news that the women’s cricket team is being discriminated against in Pakistan.

ESPN Cricinfo has released a report that women cricketers are not even getting daily allowance for the training camp of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. Although they are getting other facilities and three meals a day, the players are not getting any allowance. There is an atmosphere of anger also because the men’s team is not facing any such problem. They are even being given extra money for accommodation.

The reason PCB is showing reluctance in giving daily allowance to women cricketers is not that the board has any shortage of money. Just a few days ago, Rs 385 crore was allocated to the board for the preparation of the Champions Trophy. With the help of this money, the grounds of Karachi, Rawalpindi and Lahore are to be renovated. Even the ongoing Champions One Day Cup is reported to have spent a lot of money.

The winner of the Champions One Day Cup will get Rs 1.5 crore, which is half the prize money of the Pakistan Super League. Even the people who have been made mentors of the teams in the Champions One Day Cup are being paid a hefty amount as salary. But women cricketers seem to be struggling for every penny.
