Ball Tampering Allegations On India A: India A team is present on Australia tour for two unofficial tests. Team India was accused of ‘ball tampering’ in the first test of the series played in Mackay. According to reports, this allegation was made by the umpire Shawn Craig present on the field. Due to this, the play on the fourth day of the match started late. During this, there was some argument between Ishan Kishan and the umpire. Team India lost this match by 7 wickets.
Actually, seeing the scratches on the ball, the umpire decided to change the ball. Some argument was also seen between Ishan Kishan and the umpire regarding changing the ball. During the debate, umpire Shaun Craig was heard saying through the stump mic that when you scratched it, we changed the ball. No more discussion, let’s play. This is not a discussion.
In response to this, Ishan Kishan said that will we play with the changed ball? Further Ishaan said that this is a foolish decision. The umpire did not like this statement of Ishan Kishan and he told the Indian wicketkeeper batsman that he would complain about it. This is very inappropriate behaviour.
However, in an article by Cricket Australia, it was made clear that the umpire did not believe that any one person was responsible for the scratch on the ball.
