Children need extra care till 1 year, know what to do and what not to do

Infant Protection Day 2024 : Infant Protection Day is being celebrated today on 7th November. The purpose of celebrating this day is to promote care of children from birth to 1 year. So that people can be made aware about the safety and proper care of the newborn child. What to do to take good care of the child

1. Before touching the newborn (Newborn Care Tips), wash your hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap, because the baby can become vulnerable to germs and viruses if touched with dirty hands. 2. 2. Wash all the baby’s things with antibacterial soap or detergent and dry thoroughly.

3. If there is any fever, cough, cold or any kind of illness in the house, then stay away from the newborn baby until it gets cured.

4. If mother is ill, use latex gloves for feeding or changing clothes.

5. Always wear clean clothes before taking the child in your lap.

6. Be careful about children’s clothes also. Fungus can grow even on slightly wet clothes, which can cause skin irritation.

7. Buy only sealed diaper packets. Dress the child first in cotton and then in some other cloth.

8. Always keep wipes, powder and pants used for children in a place where they can be easily found when needed.

9. Keep the house disinfected. Get all corners, plastic, metal, glass handles and floors thoroughly cleaned.

Newborn baby needs extra care

1. Parents should never make children sleep alone. Cover them from all sides while sleeping, so that there is no fear of falling.

2. Keep children’s bed soft, solid and flat.

3. If the child cries a lot or does not feel well, consult a doctor immediately.

4. Do not make children wear too many clothes, keep them only as much as they are comfortable with. Wear soft clothes yourself.

5. Massage children with chemical free oil or cream.

6. Do not keep gadgets like mobile, laptop near children.

7. Get all the vaccinations given to children on time after birth.

Feed only mother’s milk to newborn

Doctors say that mother’s milk acts as a protective shield for the newborn baby. Only mother’s milk should be fed from 1 hour after birth till 6 months. Apart from this, they do not need water, juice or anything else. Actually, mother’s milk contains exactly the right amount of fat, sugar, water and protein. It contains all the nutrients which are necessary for the child. That is why it is also called a complete diet. This milk improves the health of the child.
