Recently there is a news which is gaining a lot of headlines. Actually, a patient whose name is Joydeep Dey has got the date of 2027 to get an MRI scan done for his right leg injury. For them being BPL i.e. below poverty line, the cost of MRI scan in a good and public hospital in Delhi NCR can be between Rs 18,000 to Rs 25,000.

MRI is much cheaper in AIIMS

Actually, getting MRI done in AIIMS is much cheaper. Here it can easily cost between 2-3 thousand. In the year 2022, AIIMS decided that all the MRI machines will run 24 hours so that patients do not have to wait much. But then patients have to wait a long time. An AIIMS official said that the hospital divides patients according to their illness. Patients who need an MRI immediately get an MRI quickly. But patients who do not need MRI immediately have to wait longer.

Why was the date received after three years?

The second category includes those people whose MRI is done within 4 days. The number of patients whose doctors ask to get MRI done early comes between two weeks to a month. The number of patients suffering from back pain and leg pain is increasing rapidly. The number of such patients is highest.
