Professor Shafali Gulati, Faculty Incharge of Pediatric Neurology Division, says that children from birth till 18 months should be kept completely away from mobile, TV or any kind of screen. At this age, children’s brains develop rapidly and screens can hinder their natural development.

Direct impact on language and behavior

According to experts, the ability to learn language may be affected in children who watch too much screen. Along with this, their social behavior may also become weak. Sometimes such symptoms appear which appear like autism, although it is not directly considered to be the cause of autism.

It is important to limit screen time for small children

Doctors have advised that the screen time of children between 18 months to 6 years should be extremely limited. At this age, it is important to involve children more in sports, conversation and creative activities so that their mental and social development can improve.
