Ward said, ‘When I was undergoing chemotherapy, I was running and cycling to the hospital which was 7 miles away from home. I used to feel very strange there but now I am enjoying it. The worst situation in my life came when I was being given radiotherapy. There was a danger of my mental balance deteriorating due to this but I wanted to move on from all this.’ Ian has so far raised about 500,000 dollars from his marathon. He says that he still has a lot of work left.
