A flurry of centuries in Ranji, now a double century in the Irani Cup, why is Sarfaraz not included in Team India?

Sarfaraz Khan Double Hundred Irani Cup 2024: Irani Cup 2024 is being played in Lucknow, in which Mumbai and Rest of India are face to face. By the end of the second day’s play, Mumbai had scored 536 runs at the loss of 9 wickets. Sarfaraz Khan has become a big hero for Mumbai, who has scored a double century in this match. This double century came at a time when Sarfaraz did not get a chance to play in the series against Bangladesh.

The 2022-2023 domestic season was a great one for Sarfaraz Khan and he scored a string of centuries in the Ranji Trophy. Now he has also scored a double century in the Irani Cup. Sarfaraz had scored 556 runs including 3 centuries and one fifty in the 2022-2023 Ranji Trophy. After that performance, the demand for giving him a place in Team India started increasing. He has maintained his excellent rhythm even after that, but what is the reason due to which Sarfaraz is not able to make a place in Team India.

Why are you not getting a place in Team India?

Talking about India’s Test team, at present all the slots are filled. Talking about opening, Yashasvi Jaiswal has confirmed his place along with captain Rohit Sharma, who has scored fifties in both the innings of the second test match against Bangladesh. At third place is Shubman Gill, who is being considered as the future superstar player of Team India and he also has the support of head coach Gautam Gambhir to some extent.

After Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul have also staked their claim to remain in the playing eleven of Team India by playing innings of 68 runs. After him, the order of all-rounders and bowlers starts in the Indian team, hence the biggest reason for Sarfaraz getting a place in the playing eleven of Team India is that at present there is no vacancy in the team. Only if a player gets injured or ill is it possible for him to get a place in the playing eleven.
