There is one such ritual which is about 100 years old and discussions have started regarding obscene rituals. This discussion started when a bride was tied to a pillar by the groom’s friends with the help of tape. Whose video is becoming increasingly viral on Chinese social media.

The groom’s friend told the truth

According to South China Morning Post, in the video that went viral on Weibo, some people tied a woman to a pole with tape, the woman was wearing a wedding dress. She was screaming for help but no one was coming to save her. Reportedly, the people who tied the bride to the pole were the groom’s childhood friends who were just playing a game. On which the couple also agreed. A friend of the groom named Yang told that it is our custom to create a little ruckus at weddings and this is the mark of good friends. No harm is caused to anyone in this. Yang further said that the groom was present there during the ceremony and everyone in the group performing the ceremony took full care of the bride’s safety.

Users angry on social media

There has been an uproar on social media regarding this ritual. People called this ritual torture and called it just a farce. One person reportedly wrote on Weibo…Expressing your happiness over someone else’s suffering is a very useless thing. Another user wrote… If something happens to the bride then who will take responsibility for it? So another user wrote…these obscene rituals are pushing the customs and traditions of marriage into the well. There must be action on these.
