IMD Weather Update: The mood of the weather has changed before Diwali. November is about to come and there is no cold in sight. Although the weather cools down at night, there is strong sunlight during the day, but the Diwali festival may get disrupted because the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert in many states.

The weather will be clear in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha, but there are chances of heavy to very heavy rain in the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh. Yesterday, there was an upper air cyclone over many coastal areas of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, after which IMD also issued an alert.

It may rain in these states

IMD has predicted light to moderate rain along with thunderstorm and lightning at isolated places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, coastal Lakshadweep and southern Karnataka from October 31 to November 1. On Monday, 12 mm rainfall was recorded in Parvatipuram, Andhra Pradesh. Seven mm rainfall was recorded in Jiamma Valasa, four mm in Komrada and four mm in Sitanagaram. Talking about Odisha, eight mm rainfall was recorded in Nishchintkoili and five mm rainfall was recorded in Bissam-Cuttack.

Talking about the weather of the next seven days, there may be sporadic rain in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal from October 31 to November 3. Sporadic rain is expected in the coastal areas of Karnataka on 28th to 29th October. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning in the interior areas of Karnataka from October 29 to November 2. There may be sporadic rain in Kerala, Mahi and Lakshadweep from October 28 to November 3. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected from 1st to 3rd November.

Light rain in West Bengal and Sikkim

Talking about the northern states, light to moderate rain is expected in West Bengal and Sikkim on October 30 and 31. There may be light rain in Odisha on 28th to 29th October. Light to moderate rainfall has been predicted in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on October 29.
