Karnataka Elections: The count down of voting has started in the Karnataka assembly elections. Voting will start in the state on Wednesday (May 10) from seven in the morning in one phase. Its results will be declared on Saturday (May 13). Earlier on Monday (May 8), the campaigning of political parties for the elections has ended. BJP, Congress and JDS are fighting hard to come to power in Karnataka. But, the main fight is believed to be between BJP and Congress. Overall, voting will take place in the state today. facilities for voters
According to the instructions given by the Election Commission to the Chief Electoral Officer of Karnataka, each polling station will be on the ground floor. There shall be a good approach road leading to the polling station building. Will be equipped with assured minimum facilities (AMF) like drinking water and waiting room. There shall be shade shed, toilet with water facility, adequate arrangement of lighting, ramp of suitable gradient for PWD voters and a standard polling booth. There will also be a permanent ramp and permanent infrastructure at every polling station.

Karnataka voters
At present, there are 5.21 crore voters in Karnataka. Of these, there are 2.59 crore women voters. There are 16,976 voters above the age of 100 years. There are 4,699 voters of the third gender. There are 9.17 lakh voters who cast their vote for the first time. The number of disabled voters is 5.55 lakh. Apart from this, out of 224 assembly seats in the state, 36 seats are reserved for tribal and 15 for Dalit community. For the first time in Karnataka, 12.15 lakh above 80 years and 5.55 lakh benchmark PWD voters will have home voting facility.

58,282 polling stations will be set up in the assembly constituencies of Karnataka. Webcasting facility will be available in 50 percent polling stations. 1,320 polling stations will be managed through women officers.
