Himanta Biswa Sarma Directives: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s office on Wednesday (June 28) issued some important instructions to the deputy commissioners of all districts to be followed during the CM’s official programmes. In the issued instructions, it has been asked to refrain from gamchha-bouquet and instructions related to catering have also been given.

What was said in the advisory issued by the Chief Minister’s Office?

• Before the program starts, a lamp can be lit by the organizers which can keep burning during the entire meeting.
• Greeting the Chief Minister with gamchha or bouquets of flowers will be strictly avoided and no gift will be given to the CM.
• There is no need for any other motion of thanks other than a thank you note from the anchor.
• In case of Chief Minister’s overnight stay, the next morning the program should start with the planting of one commercial sapling.
• Tea should be served in a Kulhad and water should be kept in a glass bottle or jug ​​instead of a single-use plastic bottle.
• Lunch and dinner menu should always be simple vegetarian food with Assamese or local tribal style menu.

Let us tell you that earlier on the instructions of CM Sarma, the top police officers of Assam conducted a rehabilitation campaign till late night on Tuesday (June 27) to shift the homeless people living under the flyover in Guwahati to safe shelters.

According to news agency ANI, Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (Metro) Pallav Gopal Jha visited Guwahati’s Ulubari area and got beggars removed from the flyover there. After this they were taken for rehabilitation. The Deputy Commissioner said that the Chief Minister keeps visiting the city at night and sees the problems of the city.

Earlier, CM Sarma had asked the Deputy Commissioner of Guwahati whether the family he (CM) sees at night is still living under a flyover in Ulubari? There are 2-3 small children in the family. In view of this, the CM had directed the officer to provide immediate accommodation and income opportunities for that family.
