Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Varanasi and Gorakhpur are developing as solar cities: CM Yogi

UP News: Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh yogi adityanath On Friday, the Chief Minister said that his government is developing Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Varanasi and Gorakhpur as “Solar Cities”. The Chief Minister inaugurated the 70 MW Avada Solar Power Project set up in Banda on Friday through virtual medium from his official residence at 5 Kalidas Marg.

According to an official statement issued here, CM Yogi said in his address, “Uttar Pradesh can become a major center of renewable energy in the country and Bundelkhand and Vindhya have the highest potential for production of solar energy.” He said, “The state government is taking forward the green energy program of about 22000 MW, for which 23000 acres of land has been marked. Not only this, the state government is taking this campaign forward on a war footing in the sequence of Solar and Bio Energy Policy-2022 and Green Hydrogen Policy-2024.

Solar panels on 25 lakh houses
The Chief Minister said that the inauguration of this solar energy project is the beginning of a new chapter of bringing the investment proposal received during the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit to the ground and through this more than four hundred people will get employment. CM Yogi said that under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, solar panels are to be installed on 25 lakh houses in the state. He also said that so far 18 lakh registrations have been done under this.

He said that a large network of canals is available in the state for the farmers. Energy Minister AK Sharma, Minister of State for Energy Somendra Tomar, Minister of State for Jal Shakti Ramkesh Nishad from Banda, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and Avada Group chief Vineet Mittal were present with Yogi in the program.
